Bishop L. McKenny
A native of Sumter, South Carolina. In 1974, he graduated from Sumter High
School and upon high school graduation, he matriculated at Benedict College and in 1978, received his Bachelor’s Degree. Later, he pursued and achieved his Master’s Degree in Organization Management of a Nonprofit from Springfield College at one of their extensions in Charleston, SC in 2010.
Bishop McKenny is the Senior Pastor and Founder of Prayer Mountain Ministries, located in the
Capital City of Columbia, South Carolina. He is also founder and now Overseer of The Love Center
Church in Sumter, South Carolina. Apostle is the Founder and CEO of Charity Outreach Ministry,
a non-profit organization of which he founded in 1992 and now oversees several ministries under his leadership. He is married to Pastor Stephanie L. McKenny, a licensed therapist and President of AwakenHer, a women’s ministry. She has assisted him in ministry in various capacities, and together they have two sons.
Over the years he has ministered abroad twice on the continent of Africa and in Europe. In January
of 2022, God promoted him to the office of the Apostle. Apostle McKenny is an author and has a heart for ALL PEOPLE. His motto in life is found in St. John 13:34-35; “A new commandment I give unto you that you love one another as I have loved you. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
